Recognize This?
Yep. I cast on for "my so-called scarf". I'm going to New York in a week, and when I checked out the temperatures, I realized I need some REAL cold-weather gear.
The yarn is Malabrigo and the colorway is Roanoke. I LOVE this yarn. Which has become part of my dilemma.
I also LOVE this stitch pattern. From the front. From the back? Not so much...
I'm a firm believer that a scarf should be reversible. It doesn't have to look the same on both sides, but it bugs me if both sides aren't interesting to look at.
Still, the colors are so gorgeous, I decided that I'm willing to overlook the "purliness" of the wrong side of the scarf.
However, I can't overlook this:
<-- Here's one edge of the scarf, and
Here's the other -->
Am I the only one who's had this problem?
Both pictures were taken from the right side of the scarf. This just bugs me. To the point I can't see past it.
So, I frogged it.
I need to think this one through, and it's not going to be a quick solution. Maybe I'll do a chain edge, like Elellanyar did. Or maybe I'll do something different. But one thing's for sure. It won't be quick. So... I grabbed my other Malabrigo (I think the colorway is Col. China, but I'm too lazy to get up and check right now), and started a mistake rib scarf. That should be a quick knit, right?
