Blog or Cut Bait...
Okay. Clearly I am not fast enough or dedicated enough to be a knitblogger. That's fine. When I started this blog, I anticipated blogging about other things, too. Knitting just happens to be something I'm more passionate about than most of the other people I spend time with, so it seemed a natural topic for the blog. But obviously, it needs to be one topic of many.
What I didn't really anticipate is what a private person I am, and how tough that makes it to blog. Way to miss the obvious, huh?
It's been radio silence over here for a wide variety of reasons--both good and bad: Two people I care about are battling big illnesses, I've started my own business (in addition to working my regular corporate job), my oldest cat recently died of a very aggressive cancer, I've had my own recent medical scares, I've been traveling for work (the corporate gig), I've been spending a lot of time with the man that I love, I'm trying to get the house fixed up to put on the market, and I'd like to figure out what I want to be when I grow up before I retire... But this is all life. Other bloggers find the time to blog while their lives go on. How do they do it? And it hits me: they blog the illnesses, the new business, the death of a beloved cat, the medical scares, the business trips, the wonderful man, the house chaos, and the malaise. I just don't know if I want to.
So now, what to do about it?
I read a lot of fabulous blogs, and I just don't know that I have anything new or interesting to offer. Or if I'm willing to expose enough of myself to find out. People talk about the anonymity of the Internet, but I don't think it's so anonymous when you're part of a community, and that's what blogging is about. Being part of an online community.
So I need to decide--Blog, or cut bait...

Hi Stephanie,
I read your post and was surprised to see that no one left a comment. I too started my blog thinking that I was going to be one of those share everything bloggers - I'm not. So I share the knitting, the good things that happen to me and I rant a little about things (political) that bother me. Don't sweat the small stuff. If you have nothing you want to share, don't. But I love your knitting and I would have missed that beautiful photo of Yosemite from your camera's perspective if you hadn't posted it. Whatever you decide, Godspeed.
